Shortage of labour in textile industry brings together Indians

Shortage of labour in textile industry brings together Indians

Unity in diversity happens to be a unique feature of India's democracy and this has been demonstrated beyond doubt in the Indian textile industry especially in the knitwear industry.

Any one visiting a knitwear unit at Tirupur, the hosiery capital of India, can see people from various parts of India like the far off Orissa, West Bengal and Bihar states in the north and the nearby Andhra Pradesh besides the far flung Nepal at the foothills of the Himalayas thanks to the acute shortage of manpower.
